Noob question. The 32bit and 64bit downloads are referring to the OS not the CPU correct?

I will be reinstalling my OS after I install the Opty 165 in a raid 0. I am going to download the latest drivers to my backup hard drive before hand. Should I use the floppy disk drivers for the install, then run the new driver package to update or should I extract the latest drivers to a floppy and use them for the install?

Ideally you want to extract the raid drivers to floppy, or even better slipstream them onto your windows xp install disc (some people have trouble with floppy method)

And yes, the drivers refer to the OS not the hardware. For example I have an Athlon 64bit processor but I am using Windows XP 32bit so I download the 32bit drivers.

I have never had a problem with the floppy, so I will just do it that way. Thanks for the reassurance on the 32/64 bit difference. I just wanted to be sure.

I don't know, sorry. I'm still using single core and 32bit. I checked the AMD site for you but it doesn't say.

Any x64 users care to shed some light onto the issue?

EDIT: Yes it'll work on x64, here's the link.
