la-z-boy Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Tell me what i'm doing wrong because i can't get pass 225FSB. superpi keep giving me errors and prime fails in matters of minutes. michaelzhao Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Whats the stepping on your processor? How many volts on your vcore? Have you tried Prime? I've heard of some people failing Superpi and OCCT but passing prime.
Guest scott Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Instead of your present settings of : DRAM Drive Strength........................... - 7 DRAM Data Drive Strength...................... - 1 why don't you try setting everything from DQS Skew control & on down to the end of the bios as AUTO. When I formerly encountered your same problem, that made the difference for me! Just give it a try & see if it helps you: DRAM bank interleave Enabled DQS skew control Auto DQS skew value 0 DRAM drive strength Auto DRAM data drive strength Auto Max async latency Auto DRAM response time Auto (or normal) Read preamble time Auto IdleCycle limit Auto cycles Dynamic counter Disabled R/W queue bypass Auto Bypass max Auto 32 byte granularity Disable (4 bursts)
bcbooter Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 use a lower ram divider..1/2 to find max cpu
farksy Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Drive strength 8 works well for me. And set 2-2-2-5, for some odd reason i remembered TCCDs don't really like loose timings either.
la-z-boy Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 CPU stepping: CABYE 0540 vcore was at stock 1.4v The cpu can reach up to 3Ghz, RAMs could do 270Mhz. RAM settings were the problem. I still didn' get the hang of it yet but after playing wih the settigs i've got it to boot at 290FSB New setting: FSB Bus Frequency............................. - 290 Vcore ................................................- 1.45v DRAM Voltage Control.......................... - 2.8v DRAM Configuration Settings: DRAM Frequency Set............................ - 9/10 Command Per Clock (CPC)....................... - Enable CAS Latency Control (Tcl)..................... - 3 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd)..................... - 4 Min RAS# active time (Tras)................... - 8 Row precharge time (Trp)...................... - 4 Row Cycle time (Trc).......................... - 12 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc)................... - 16 Bus Clocks Row to Row delay (Trrd)....................... - 03 Bus Clocks Write recovery time (Twr)..................... - 03 Bus Clocks Write to Read delay (Twtr).................... - 02 Bus Clocks Read to Write delay (Trwt).................... - 03 Bus Clocks Refresh Period (Tref)......................... - auto DRAM Bank Interleave.......................... - Enabled DRAM Drive Strength........................... - 8 The rest are on auto. Prime lasted for 4 hours and 13minutes, temp 34idle - 49load. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help so far guys.
la-z-boy Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Ok, i've tested a lot and tried a lot of ram timmings, still can't get it to be stable, help
Han$en Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Try setting the HTT to x4 instead of x3.. I can't pass 220FSB on x3, but 310 is my highest on x4.. And it does a Prime, SuperPI etc
la-z-boy Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 ^Thanks, i'll try that right now. I've bumped my RAM to 2.9v and it primed for 13:49 hours then failed. Sigh
