K33B4 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 So i just ordered my X2 4800 at 350 bux from MonarchComputers.com, great deal and i did wait for the price drop. Question here is how do i put this CPU into my current rig that has a Opty 148? Should i backup all my harddrive info and hope that windows doesn't lock up or is there a way around the whole problem with windows being able to detect cpu! Onsightsmith Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 You will probably have to reactivate it. I put 2gb of memory in the wifes rig a while back and had to reactivate it. Luckily I didnt have to reinstall or anything like that and I doubt you would have to either.
