CompGeek Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Well, my 7900 GTs would bench 600/925 on stock cooling / voltage (1.2v) 3D05: 15,638 3D06: 9,689 I got the waterblocks and upped to 1.55v via the pen mod: Also modded the resistor to 45k ohm for stability (Resistor 'B' in RED): I was able to get 760mhz stable on the core (760 from 450 stock!), but wouldn't you know it, im pushing my PSU about 125w over rating (hehe) so I keep freezing in 3D Apps. (I know it stable because when I take the OC off my CPU and free up about 100w it runs fine) I ordered this PSU and will have it wednsday/thursday. This is just prelim stuff, I'll update this thread when I have some real results,. Feel free to post your 7900 GT Vmodding results. Hopin for some nice scores in 3D Mark when its all said and done, along with 700-725mhz 24/7 on the core. UPDATE: PSU here, but even @ 730/890 my scores aren't really increasing much... managed to get 10089 in 06 and 15980 in 05.

UncleDavid218 Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Err on air I'm scared doing more than 1.5v, but 760 on the core is amazing! Most I've done is 700MHz with the 1.5v volt mod. Good work and keep us updated! I may have a Conroe E6600 ES in the next 2 weeksHow?

red930 Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Great choice for a PSU. That is an amazing overclock! Did you have your 7900GT on the waterblocks with stock voltages hitting 600/925? That's crazy dude, good for you.

In the past couple of weeks I have very nearly ordered a second XFX7900GT for an SLI setup on my rig. My current OC on the card on my sig is very stable on a loop of 6X on 3dmark '01, '03, '05 and '06. I have also played with Quake4, FEAR, Chaos Theory and Oblivion with no artifacts and no problems. My main concern is that I may not be able to duplicate the same OC on a newer card.

Redbeaver Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 i still cant understand how u got 600-core 900+mem on stock voltage....... which eVGA GT do u have? i have the CO superclock and i heard the KO has 1.5V on stock already. that may explain. my CO on default volt wouldnt go any higher than 560/840... 1.2V all around.....
