edjahman Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 The Nvidia utility says that the core slowdown threshold is 110C. I've seen my setup run as high as 76C on the hotter card and 63C on the cooler. They are on factory air and they are overclocked. It this too high for benching or anything else for that matter. I'd hate to blow up 1100$ worth of video card. --EJM
red930 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 That's not bad, but if you can put a 92mm/80mm fan right between the two cards, that can help your temps decrease alot. Good Luck! Note: Don't even think getting passed 80c is good, forget what they say about the 110c threshold!!! You don't want to get any near that degree, trust me. Technics Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I think youll find that alot of that heat is coming from the voltage regulators. There are even watercooling blocks out now for 7900 VR's  I just stuck an eighty mm between the two right in front of the VR's, now I can actually touch the VR's without having skin stick to them.
