Guest ElAguila Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Anyone here using one of the vf900 heatsinks on an x1900 or geforce 7800? If so I was wondering how it effected the temperature on your dfi chipset.
UncleDavid218 Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I don't think they're officially out yet. At least not from Newegg. I'll be ordering one, though.
Uncle_Mojo Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I have the VF900-Cu on an eVGA 7800GT CO. My chipset temps went down, as the stock cooler was dumping warm air directly onto the chipset cooler. I have very good airflow in the case, as well.

DeathBooger Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I ordered one from excaliburpc.com, they have a few in stock. I'll let you know how well it cools the X1900, should have it by this coming Thursday.
Branjo Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Hey that looks very nice indeed I think I will look into one of those myself. just need someone to guinea pig it first, i have a vf700Cu already on my card how I get an idle temp of 32C and load of 50C if it beats the load temp by say 5C I might invest in one. The 900-Cu outperformed my old Fatal1ty FS-V7 (basically a VF700Cu with a slightly faster fan) by 4-5C load. This was on my eVGA 7800 CO. I don't know how it will perform on that ATI card, tho. FWIW. UncleDavid218 Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I'll order mine along with the 2x1GB OCZ Platinum I'm planning to get. All from Newegg so I'll have to wait!
DeathBooger Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 idle: 39 vs. 45 load: 80 vs. 69 Easy install. Well worth it for the sound decrease alone, I have it set on high non-stop and barely hear it.
