cyberpeke Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 There are two LAN ports, which one is better?
Reinvented Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Some say the Marvell is, and others will probably say nVidia. It's all personal preference if you ask me..

Viper6 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 The NVIDIA one is better because it has lower CPU utilisation and faster throughput.
UncleDavid218 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 nvidia firewall sucks. Don't do it. You will not regret it. I use the nvidia NIC for internet use, and connect to the 100Mbps LAN in my house via the Marvell NIC.

joelatino Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Hi! I have an DFI expert mb; I have try all drivers for this mb but if I use the Nvidia ethernet card I have many problems such timeout, loss packets, limited connitevity and disconnections... If I use the other card in mb (Marvel) it's all ok ,why? When will be out some new decent drivers for it? Thanks
Virus1_2 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Regards to the new drivers I would just keep me eye on DFI.tw to see what new drivers are out but you should not have any problem with the Nvida port. But if you do I would just disable the port and use marvel why are you expiating problems with the Nvida? I have but they bean all resoled but that’s how I would deal with the matter personally. atari204 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Hi! I use both ports: Nvidia for internet connection and Marvell for internal Gb connection. Both work OK I don't see any difference.
