MiLK_MD Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 My new endeavor. Going backwards! Actually, just looking for a Vcore minimum. Testing testing testing... This supports your idea, rhiridflaidd, about the curve freq vs. v being logarithmic. Or exponential. It takes me .15V from here to go up another 200MHz. NeilSouth Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Im glad you had luck getting it beyond 2.65... but im stuck with a weak core 0 my core 1 will go beyond 2.8
MiLK_MD Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 It's a common problem. My core1 is the weak one. I have to adjust voltages to satisfy core1 whereas core0 does everything without a peep.

Yep thing is i pushed it right upto 1.67 volts mearly for a testing point of view and it primed an extra.... 10mins!
twivel Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 In my testing, I couldn't pin down one core or the other as being the failure point. Sometimes 1 would fail, sometimes 2 would fail. Either they are both failing at the same point , or there is something in common between the two that is preventing higher clocking. NeilSouth Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 3hr prime job 2.66 gained 60mhz [roll] [rotfl] thats it now
MiLK_MD Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 That's it. Steady as she goes.
rhiridflaidd Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 That's a coincidence. That's precisely where I ended up (266,1:1,x10)! I've one thing that might break your heart though. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php then get a rosetta account. http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/create_account_form.php Getting my X2 to be stable enough to run that has been a trial. 1mhz more, or 1mhz less than my curent clockspeed = crash! If all my fans aren't full blast; crash. Prime and superpi aren't half as picky.
NeilSouth Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 That's a coincidence. That's precisely where I ended up (266,1:1,x10)!. lol well im running into mem problems atm with my ballistix so its running 295x9 with a mem divider , higher clock , higher fsb but slightly lower ram speeds. rhiridflaidd Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 -but twice the RAM though. That'll be my next upgrade.

rhiridflaidd Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Which sort of temps are you all hitting (idle and prime) with your x2's I'm doing 26 deg and 38 deg - with watercooling. Is that hotter than you'd expect for an X2?
