bigred Posted September 6, 2003 Posted September 6, 2003 as much as I don't like the fx series cards, the fx 5200 does win out against the 9200 cuz of dx9 support. current preformance is pretty close under dx9 though.

andrusk Posted September 6, 2003 Posted September 6, 2003 (edited) Looks good. Only thing id recommend is a little more ram. Your gonna need it for doom 3 and future stuff. And what are you talking about? Battlefield 1942 is only like a year old. I wouldnt consider that an older game. by the dr. frank, i love your personal photo Edited September 6, 2003 by andrusk

Mist Posted September 6, 2003 Posted September 6, 2003 If u plan on using the card with hl2 id say wait. If u have to have it now go with the 5200 but dont expect to work wonders.

ant84 Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 i think GF3ti500 is better than FX5200, and 256RAM is useless for 5200 too...
bigred Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 ti500 is faster mhz wise, but it's not going to out perform the 5200 with 128mb (yeah the 256mb is worthless)
Mist Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 Hmm i have a few games on my list to get which are going to utilize the extra memory. That is why i got a 256mb card but for todays games it doesnt really make adifference.
