red930 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Once I have tested a rig and verified its operation I only need to check things every once in a while. I use EVEREST to check things out when I feel the need. I like to keep the number of processes to a minimum.
szurlo Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I like to keep the number of processes to a minimum. Right, kind of my line of thinking too. Hence my interest in a HW solution.
Guest Blooz1 Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 MBM5 and Everest on my DFI, along with a DMM from time to time. I also use MBM on my Biostar board in the HTPC. The sensors on my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe are too whacked out to use MBM, so I use Speedfan on that rig. (AsusProbe sucks!)

Guest Ryn Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I use both MBM5 and Smartguardian but I'm more comfortable using the MBM5 since I've been using it for years.
BlueOval Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Ditto Ryn's post above. Have also tried Speedfan, but MBM5 is the best imho.
THunDA Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 MBM on a regular basis.. I also use probes from my Aerogate3 and a DMM for volatges..
Amd_Lover2004 Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Right now i use Speed Fan, but in the future i plan to get a G15 and use the onboard LCD to monitor my temps and whatnot The G15 does not support teps out of the box. The only thing it has is the proformace monitor, clock, and media sreens, I have an applet from G15 forums that allows me to use speedfan and display it on my G15 LCD. I normaly Use SpeedFan, but haave been known to use MBM5 on occation. Right now I am working out the bugs on my DFI SLI-DR Expert system, and Speedfan wont work, but I may have just found a Solution to that. BTW Great forums

ncsa Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 I like and Use MBM5 for daily use .. but under a Speed Check then non-essentials get turned off
Aynjell Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 I use the gnome panel system monitor, which works with lm_sensors, a daemon software that interacts with the drivers for varios hardware monitors like the ITE system on most newer DFI boards. Link to "Sensors Applet." Note: This is for linux.
