BiffSteel Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 -With your new NIC and no cable in the on-board NIC, open a DOS command prompt and type ipconfig /all, note the information -- the laziest way to do this is to make a screenshot of the DOS prompt window and paste into Wordpad, then save. - Repeat the same excercise with just the on-board NIC. - Compare the info. sillykid Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 I had similar problems with my Lanparty UT SLI-DR but after asking around I finally found out that windows was actually shutting off the E port. Going into your ethernet power properties you need to uncheck the box that says "allow windows to turn off to save power" box. Then you have to go into the BIOS and manually setup the ethernet port again with the right MAC ID.
