xboarder Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 ok...I just bought a dvd-rom drive to replace the cd drive I had...I also have a cd-rw...I set the dvd to slave like I had done with the cd drive before...and went into the bios to change the boot order to the new dvd drive instead of the old cd-rom...however, now, while my computer detects that the drive is installed and working properly under the "hardware profiles" in windows, only the cd-rw shows up under 'My Computer'...the dvd-rom does not...what's going on? LobbDogg Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 When you boot the computer and it shows the IDE devices, does it show up there as being detected? Also why did you have to change the boot order?
