fvbarc Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 I'm not able installing win xp64 32bit version runs perfectly. The installation goes fine up to last reboot, then pc reboots continuosly. Only one time appeared Win XP 64 logo and than the blue screen----> IRQ equal or less etc... There are some particular bios settings? Are my hdd gpt partition compatible? Thanks
Regiment Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Sorry if this doesn't help at all fvbarc but i was just wondering if you needed new sata drivers to download to use win64 or just used the ones off the link?
Guest thespin Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Win x64 install requires that you reformat your hard drive. Did you do this ? If you did, are you using the 'optimized default' settings in your bios ?
Soul.Survivor Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 With XP64 it's tricky to get it installed on raid with an nforce chipset, the drivers don't work right. There are half-assed workarounds but they're not simple solutions. I'm sure someone who's done it can point you in the right direction but I'm sticking to 32 bit until it's not such a PITA to get drivers and such for XP64. fvbarc Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 I use latest Nvidia 64 bit raid drivers. I tried also after formatting.

Had no problems here, I've reformatted and installed xp64 5 times in the last two weeks on a Raid 0 setup
Empedocles Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 I use latest Nvidia 64 bit raid drivers. This is where you went wrong. Download the first beta XP-64 drivers (6.39A). On another rig, run the executable, but stop when it asks you whether you want to install. Make a note of where it unpacked the files. Browse to nvidianforcewinXP64IDEWinXP. Copy the files in that directory - but NOT the subdirectory RAIDTOOL - to a floppy disk. This is what you need to when you press f6 at the beginning of the install. Note that you will see two drivers on offer: SATA and RAID. Install them both, in that order (RAID will actually be listed first). Also note that Windows will complain twice about a file being missing - ignore both (choose the "skip" option). this trick does not work with later versions, but once XP64 is up and running then you can just install the latest ones as normal. Worked for me. (2 x Raptors in RAID 0)

Empedocles Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 What about the ones on the Dfi website, use them or the beta? If the ones on the DFI site are any later than those betas, use the betas. This is because the later drivers unpack differently. In particular, there are now two subdirectories for SATA and RAID, but they are two big to fit on the same floppy. Now it MIGHT work on a CD, but I'm not sure. Trouble is, Windows doesn't like subdirectories during that stage of the install, but it needs some files from both subdirectories for each set of drivers. To add to the confusion, some files in each sub have the smae names, but are actually different. I tried sveral combinations of files, but never got any to work, whereas the betas worked first time. Lane Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Try using the 6.39 SATA Raid and SATA drivers... All other have give me trouble at installation specially with Raid. 0..It s the first, but strange thing it s the better.... Look on www.planetamd64.com For download you need be register... (its free.. ) here you will fond some driver tested called F6 SATA disk. normally you will find the SATA driver can work fine. Is your OC or memory totally stable? The installer of Win X64 i really sensible at a little, little bad settings... It will detect this directly at launch and will stop installation with Blue screen.. specially the "Driver non less or equal" you can boot work under windows and the installation will not pass... I was remember me having install without prob the 32Bit and then at same setting impossible to install the X64... I have finally test the OC and see error. i have stabilise and the install have pass.
