StephenC Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Your motherboard came with two yellow round ide cables. One for the primary ide connection, the other for the secondary ide connection. They are interchangable. So as long as your optical drives are ide you can use either cable.
Puma/Sire Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 But usually the cable for thre cdr is a little fatter whats the difference? I'm using Sata for the hard drivce so is it cool if I put my cd-rom drives on the ide-1 controller?
StephenC Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 You can use the IDE 1 connection for your optical drives. No difference in cable. Both are standard 80 pin cables. (40 pin connectors, 39 pins, doubled wired)

cpuz Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 He y when I;m hooking up the atx power switch to the motherboard is the white wire always negative then the grey positve? yes, usually that would be true. look at the other led connectors, if others have white too, then you can assume they are negative.
