  1. I've got about $1000 to put towards a new system that I'm gonna be putting together in a couple weeks. I need some opinions on the parts I've selected so far. (copied from newegg) ASUS M2N-E AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP ATX AMD Motherboard XFX PVT88PYDD4 GeForce 8800GT XXX 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS-460-PMSR-A3 ATX12V V2.3 460W Power Supply AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Windsor 2.8GHz Socket AM2 89W Dual-Core Processor Model ADA5600CZBOX CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4(two packs of these, so 4GB total) Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM (also gonna take a drive from a current system and put with this one) ASUS 18X DVD
  2. That's what I was thinking, but it doesn't matter anymore though. I took the system back. I'm just gonna build a new one.
  3. It SHOULD also have a DVI output but it doesn't. I know it's not a great system but shouldn't I be getting a better score on this than on something I built in 2003?
  4. Normally, I would build a new system, but I just don't have the time anymore. Yesterday I went out and bought an hp desktop(model no. a6230n). I don't need the latest and greatest system. Just something better than I currently have. Here's the specs. New system: Amd athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor 5600+ 2.8 GHz 3 Gigs of RAM NVidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 Old system: Amd athlon 2500+ 1.8GHz (overclocked to 2.2GHz) 1 Gig of RAM ATI Radeon 9600 I've run Aquamark 3 on both systems. New system: GFX 5,244 CPU 862 Overall 12,969 Old system: GFX 2,052 CPU 7,131 Overall 17,934 I'm no expert with benchmarking, but to me it looks like the cpu is holding it back. Can someone please explain why I'm getting a better score on a system I built four years ago? Thanks.
  5. I'm sorry you feel that way, but that's your choice. Just because you're miserable, it doesn't mean everyone else is.
  6. But it's not her body, its another human being growing inside of her. There are so many woman out there that are having abortions just because they can't keep their legs closed. What about the baby's choice? I bet it would choose to live. I think there should be jail time for women that have illegal abortions. Not just prayer and counseling. I mean if you do something that is illegal you should be punished.
  7. never had a problem with them. plus they have always been much faster than amazon IME.
  8. Thats what I use. Every night it backs up any new files on my secondary internal hard drive to my external hard drive. And if I delete something from the internal drive, it removes it from the backup. So anything I know I want to keep and cant be replaced I put on the secondary HDD. So if there is a fire, hopefully I will be able to just grab the external drive.
  9. wow, thats gotta take some talent to be able to paint most of it upside down and have noone figure it out til the last minute. although the last one was pretty easy.
  10. Don't worry, several other people are running the exact same WU.
  11. Yeah, pretty much anything under 750Mhz to 1Ghz isn't worth it.
  12. Sounds like a great mod! :thumbs-up: Can't wait to see it.
  13. Thought this deserved some Digg recognition. Digg it
