FX 55 overclock.... great old chip. I think this may be more in the spirit that the thread was first intended : ) http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=885066

Did you press that button with the machine running? -
Ive had quite a few mice, but in my opinion the best is the logitech mx 518 optical. So much more predictable than the lazer mice i have tried. I wore my first one completely out ( i killed the left click microswitch ), then tried a G5 , hated it. I then bought another lazer mouse.......hated it. Ordered another 518 and have never looked back. I like FPS games, counterstrike source in particular, so a good mouse is very important to me.

I tried Xp 64 bit on my AMD FX-55 based rig. I loved the way it perked up my old rig. It really did seem to run rings around the 32 bit version. For gaming, the performance of my sound card (Soundblaster audigy 2 platinum) was noticably enhanced. As for the graphics , It was harder to precieve the difference, my 8800 Gt ran very well on both. The every day performance was much improved , much more responsive and the boot time was much quicker. I was dissapointed that many applications just plain dont like it ( norton antivirus for one). The key is to make sure it is compatable with your hardware and with the programs you want you use.
