I've been using virtualdub lately, h264vfw as the codec, uses 15% processor for 960x720, 18-19 for 1280x720 @30fps and 24 cfr main profile. Had a lot of borked mp4s that would play but would not reencode, stream or remux. Vdub wouldn't cap the sound from the desktop but it muxed with the original sound without timing issues. Nvidia had bundled sw but it was low res and crappy quality, the plus side was near zero processor load.

6.89s, replacement board a-okay

[email protected] There, now it's faster than the stock 1045, too bad it's using as much power as the [email protected]. As I ran the 905 in this board before at 3.1 and this time it took less volts, hopefully I can drop the voltage after it gets broke in (or down) a bit. On the 1045, the 770t board blew* and I should have only been running 138w. I had good vrm cooling and none of the board temps or the processor were much over 40

7.329 1045t@3620 gigabyte 770t-ud3p Yea, I got one with the 270 fsb wall, as consistent as it is I think it was purposeful to keep people from burning up 125w boards. The ram OCs nicely and definitely helped along with the higher ht link.

Got memory, paste and a hyper 212, new 770-ud3p on the way so I thought I'd post final tuned settings before upgrading everything. 7.587 [email protected] gigabyte m68mt-s2p These thubans are odd ducks. @250fsb and 3.4ghz programs would run stable with cupnbv at +.125-.175, nb 2500 but the benches wouldn't pass until +.2-.225. @+.25 up the benches went unstable again. @fsb267, 3.6ghz programs would run and benches not for +.2 on up with nb 2666. All the benches run flawlessly with the nbv at +.175?? Even the burn test ran @ 68 gflops. Looks like there's a leaning towards a 133mhz base and maybe 2666 nb should be a target instead of 2600. On to the other baseline. [email protected] MSI-7309 ddr2 800mhz When this was my main pc I got it stable with 1000htl and 2000nb after endless tweaking in the bios and endless OC apps. It will also OC to 3 ghz, not worth it for the time and trouble involved on this board! As you can see it sets the default voltage 0.1v higher than stock which made it run hot at stock clocks, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered tweaking anything on this board at all (was a whopping 2 sec faster with the htl and nb set right). When I put it back together I slapped a 95w heatsink on it and called it a day. In the next week or so I'll post again with the 1045 in the 770, the 905 in this board (m86mt) and possibly the old 5200 in the msi board and a 3ghz-ht 478 socket. Hoping to get 4-4.2ghz on the 1045, 3.4-3.6 on the 905 and 3.2-3.4 on the 5200.

Apparently I get low score, "0", will rerun. http://www.3dmark.com/pcm7/709143 maybe I'll run again in a few months after a 7 upgrade. :/

AMD, price/performance, particularly in the h264 area.

This calls for an outside windshield screen to direct all the bird crap into the tank.

Tighter timings and more frequencies to play with are definitely a good thing. I don't know if it applies to single voltage XMPs, but when I run XMP voltages I can still set to all the jedec frequencies at the XMP timings. I don't know if it's the MB or mem limiting frequencies but I did find an unlisted one, 580/1160mhz.
