  1. at lowes you can get sheet metal for cheap and you can get plexi-glass like windows called lucite... kind of expensive, but high quality!
  2. Well I tried to do what retrospekt said, but the 'automatic settings' box is greyed out so I can't uncheck it to change the IRQ.. The device also doesn't show up as a conflicting device either...
  3. It doesn't really matter what divider you're on... the more divider the easier time you have overclocking your CPU!! In my case, I'm on a huge divider (to lower the ram back to stock speeds with no memory timing tweaks) to get the best CPU overclock possible... 275X11... 3.025GHZ SO.. my advice, just use a divider, it makes getting the max OC easier (then if after you're at your CPU max, jack up the divider back to 1:1 and mess with timings from there, in my opinion the settings that make the biggest settings are CAS, RAS, RCD, RP, RC, and RFC, if its not stable, just raise those settings a bit and keep stress testing)
  4. Today I just received my 2nd monitor (both Samsung 204T's). I have set them up in a dual monitor configuration (extended desktop) and everything displays fine... There is just one weird problem, when I have both monitors enabled my internet doesn't work (I have a wireless linksys G PCI card). If I disable my 2nd monitor, everything works fine. I have tested a bunch of different combinations and I have concluded that whenever I have a display connected to the 'secondary' output, my internet doesn't work. I don't think its the wireless card (even though it is finicky sometimes). I even clocked my CPU back to normal just in case there was some random instability I was unaware of... Please Help!!
  5. i use the smart guardian thing on the DFI disk... its good enough for me, the only surefire way of getting accurate temps is a temp probe... (if you really wanted to, you could probably get one for $20 or so..) the software is usually wrong, same goes for voltages...
  6. well, i guess it would be good to not pump up voltage TOO much... i mean, my comp primes at ~45 C (checked after i woke up, about 8 hours of priming) and thats on watercooling too...
  7. just keep jacking up the voltage on your CPU, it'll help and just a tip (like it says in the OC guide) lower your divider for your ram (make it like 1/2 or something) so that it won't cause instability when you OC your CPU which will help you get a good idea if your OC is stable or not and when you get your desired speed stable, move the divider back up and adjust ram from there for stability Anyway, my tip, raise the voltage until it works when i tried to stabilize 3.025 i had to raise my voltage a lot at 2.9 it was ~1.5 and now at 3 its ~ 1.7 (a big jump for 100 mhz...)
  8. ive had the samep roblem as you, if you raise to 205mhz you'll hit a wall. you need to change the timings to at leat 2.5-3-3-7, but wiht that you can get very far (i got to DDR 550 with those settings, ) so just loosen the timings and you'll be fine.
  9. how would you bleed the system?? (if you actualyl built it) woudlnt it be vaporizing and stuff all at the same time? too complicated, and back to the issue about health, wouldnt you be putting yourself at danger by inhaling vaporized alcohol?? how would you test for leaks in your pipes/connections?
  10. actually, the GPU wont heat the CPU temp up that much. dont worry, but if you really think it might heat your CPU up too much, get a dual radiator, so you can go pump>rad>res>GPU>rad>CPU>pump>rad...etc
  11. i would say that grounding to your case isnt the best thing to do, i usually touch a metal lamp now.. once i took off a fleece sweatshirt touched my XASERIII case, a huge friggin shock went though my system, shut it down, blew the capacitors on my mobo and browned the ATX power connector... yeah it was that bad..
  12. actaully, wouldnt you have to get a compressor for the alcohol since the rad probably wouldnt be able to cool the alcohol down back enough to it liquid state? assembling that would be a huge challenge.. and not to mention VERY EXPENSIVE
  13. well, i originally had a 520 watt and then i thought it was overheating (i didnt know what PWMIC meant and i thought it was the PSU temp) and then i RMAed it and got a 600 back..
  14. alcohol would most likely vaporize when heated by the processor.. and i dont think it would be good to have vaporized alcohol in your system... it just wouldnt cool anything.. try it though..
