Karajan holder blocked ?

I'm trying to put the karajan sound thing on my nf4 ultra-d, and it's blocked by a round brown..whatever you call that thing.

preventing me from pushing the little holder in..is this normal? how should I try to resolve this?

I just put mine without the white holder, works fine.

I think you're talking about the capacitor that's right behind the yellow SP/DIF jack.

 

If it is, you might need to use just enough force to move the top of it towards the PSU. This should give you enough clearance to push the module down completely. It is a very close fit. The while bracket will always make contact with the side of the capacitor.

I used a dremel on mine to make grooves to accomodate the capacitors

That's not a really good idea. No matter how careful you are about holding the module when you plug or unplug audio devices, it places a lot of stress on the module connector.

 

I would not use the module without mounting the retention bracket.

I just put mine without the white holder, works fine.

Yeah, I'm with seamuso. Mine was the same and I didn't want to bend that cap too much, so I just used a round file on the end of the bracket to give it a little more clearance.

alright..I got it in. I just spent the last half hour grinding it with my mom's fingernail file.... guess it wasn't just me

Not to go against ExRoadie, but I too agree that filing the plastic is better than a bent capacitor.

I know but i use a seperate sound card so its all good. :nod:
