NIGHTFIL Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Hello out there! Im thinking on buying a NF4-dagf! The only thing wich i don´t like ist the 800HT!My question ist, if there is a possibility to "unlock" this HT?! Is the performance between the HT800 and HT1000 very different ?! My System: DDR566 A-data 6600GT Venice 3000+
Angry_Games Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 939 cpu's are 1000...so is an NF4 chipset the LDT link speed is not anything you need to worry about. It won't affect performance (cpu/memory speed is what does affect performance).
NIGHTFIL Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 k thanks. My next question. What brings better Performance ?! DDR400 CL2 or DDR600 CL3 ?! and what about dualchannel ?! HOw much is the performance increse here ?! kann i realize a dual-channel-system with 3 ram modules ?!

Sharp Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Hello, 200Mhz = 5ns, So 2CL @200Mhz = 10ns 300Mhz = 3.33333333333333333333333333333ns So 3CL @300Mhz = 9.9999999999999999999999999999999999999 So you could say they both =10ns. The real gain is in the memory bandwidth (MB/s). Providing the CPU can deliver 9600MB/s, DDR600/PC4800 would help a lot. Or at least more than 6400MB/s (DDR400/PC3200) it would be better. You would have to overclock the CPU. Are you going to overclock your CPU to 300Mhz FSB?
NIGHTFIL Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 yeah i want to try get a stable 300 fsb with my DDR566 A-data! But i don´t know.. if i should buy a NF4-dagf or an Ultra-D! the NF4-dagf has only HTT800 but the venice supports HTT1000!
DFI_newbie Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 If its worrying you that much buy a motherboard with HT 1000 but there really isnt a difference or one that you would notice.
Sharp Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Hello, Get the ultra-D, better for overclocking. Chunky heatsinks on the PWM/VDIMM. Japanese capacitors , better overclocking components. Both have 1000Mhz HTT. http://www.nvidia.com/page/pg_20041014863476.html
