thefake007 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Hello everyone. I have been running fine on the 6/19 bios for about a year until last night. I tried to cold boot my computer and I didn't get anything on the screen at all. The CDROM drives both blink repeatedly, and the HD light is on. The HD light turns off after about 2-3 minutes. For the LED code, I get 1&2, then 3, then 4, and then it repeats again, in an endless cycle. Also, I have already hot-flashed the bios with my infinity and I still get the same deal. Anyone have any ideas? I recall from when I read the forum last year that some people held down keys on the keyboard to get passed the cold boot problem? Thanks in advance. tom_johnson Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 you can try holding down the insert key then powering on, also a long cmos clear can help. what components are you using on your Lanparty? i take it that its not whats in your sig? thefake007 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Exactly what is in the sig, except it's a Lanparty instead of my old infinity. Good thing I still have my old infinity though. Also, it hasn't been OCed too much (2.0Ghz) for the past month or so due to the warming temperatures. Not that that would make a difference. I've tried clearing the CMOS for several hours and that hasn't helped. I will try overnight tonight.
tom_johnson Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 and have u checked your ram and cpu in the infinity since this prob with the lanparty?
thefake007 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 no, not yet. I looked through some other threads with similar problems, I tried the reset/power switch trick and that didn't work. Holding insert didnt work either.
Shinobi Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Also try unplugging all non-essentials and running just a minimum setup(cpu, ram and videocard), even remove all external devices like mouse, keyboard etc... to see if you can get a POST. thefake007 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 will do tomorrow. I'm done fooling with it for the day. Going to clear CMOS overnight, and try a few more things. If that doesn't work I'm just going to swap in the Infinity. It's good to have backups... I tried a few more sticks of RAM, and that isn't the problem. I'll check the CPU tomorrow. loggan26 Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 What ram you have in there? Try some low PC2100 if you have any lying around......just one stick and try diff slots.....
