dopke Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 dont underclock the ram when testing, the CPU. What do you mean by this? I thought to find max of CPU you should underclock the ram (I assume you meant putting it on a 1/2 divider like I did) so that the RAM does not hold back the CPU. In any case, I really don't know what happened. I hit a brick wall at 258 for CPU, and decided to test max RAM. I reached 300FSB and called it good since that was way more than my CPU. I've been priming now for 4 hours at: x9 multiplier and 280HTT = 2520MHz. CPU volt is 1.4V (1.325 * 110%) Memory at 2.5-3-3-6, and running 1-1. I think I'm satisfied with 2500MHz, and will look to tighten timings after this if I can. UPDATE: So I guess prime failed sometime this morning after 7 hours or so. It said : "hardware failure" as the reason it stopped. Is this due to temperature? Is there a usual suspect if prime fails after more than just a few hours?
