WozniakMac Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 OK. I figured out the problem. My cpu fan wasn't working. I replaced the fan, and I am now idling at 37-39C. That sounds better. Stupid AMD fan. Anyways, I will replace the NB paste with some AS5, and see if those temps drop. Thank you guys.
babyelf Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 no problem.. just apply a very very thin coat of as5 for the NB.. lol amd fans.. don't see myself going back to them for some time
WozniakMac Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 Is there a better cooler for the NB, CPU, and RAM to lower the cases temps? Also, which fans should I use in my case? I can buy 4 80mm fans for the case, but I want the best ones.
babyelf Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 NB will be fine with the stock cooler for CPU i recommend a xp90 / 90c / 120 i have the xp90 and xp120.. works great.. and xp120 cools the dimms as well with a decent cfm fan 80mm fans? hmm i'm not sure.. because the fan is so small .. to have a high cfm it will require a high rpm.. and high rpm = noisy =/ get some papst 80mm fan.. it should be fine i reckon
