Advices on Coolermaster Aquagate Mini R120

Recommended Posts

Hi I am looking a better CPU cooling for my setup. DangerDen is great, however, with a limited budget, I can't affort it now.

I have three option

1) Coolermaster Aquagate Mini R120

2) Thermaright XP-120.

3) Keep the stock HSF, save the money for DangerDen (This will probably take months or year. FYI, my CPU's temperature during Prime95 could reach up to 60c, gaming around 50C).

I actually like the Coolermaster Aquagate Mini R120, which cost around US$110 and available at local store. Review here:-

Anybody know whether Coolermaster Aquagate Mini R120 will fit in DFI nF4??

Thanks for your input.

Edited: Keep the AMD HSF. Decrease CPU clock to 267x9, 50c under Prime95 torture, I think should be pretty healthy kind of temperature.

If you're in a hurry to o/c, go with the Thermalright as a temporary solution. If you don't want to o/c right away, stay with stock for now.

From that watercooler review, I wouldn't bother with it at all. The XP120 will give you much better cooling. Their review shows 52 degrees at load with 1.6V on a winnie. That's not very impressive for watercooling, and most people with the XP120 (and even 90) rarely report going over 45 degrees.

Wait for the money for the DD setup.
