Guest ElAguila Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 I know this has probably been asked and I searched for it but all I found were references to the temperature and mobo readings. I have an amd64 3400NC cpu. What is the max temp that you would want to run it at for a couple of hours? I am currently overclocked at 235x11 and my idle temp is 43C and load temp is 57C. I have heard two different things. One person told me not to go over 65C and another told me not to go over 60C for this chip. cyberfossil Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 are you running the stock bios? it supposedly reads too high and if you try one of the beta bioses it will be more inline as to the actual temp readings. I think you should thought try to stay below 65C and 70C is danger zone.
Guest ElAguila Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 I am running the 9/14 bios. The temps are correct.

This rig hard resets when the CPU hits 70°c, so anything less than that is fine IMHO. I run folding 24/7 though, so the temps rarely fluctuate more than 5°c over a whole day. You'll find the sweet spot for your CPU soon
