Old School Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 So far my system has been running incident-free for about a week since I built it. Every time I fire her up I get the typical initial beep. However, it is quite loud. Is there a way to control the volume in BIOS? Also, is this beep motherboard related or case related? My case (Kingwin KT-424-BK) has a speaker on the inside bottom. Don't know if there is a volume control for it but I suppose I can check the manual that came with it, although it is crap.
Guest ZigZag Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 The loudness of the beep is your case speaker. Might be able to disconnect it alltogether.
Capt_13M Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 Or you could put some tape over it to muffle it a bit,
David Stewart Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 Mine was also very loud, so I just uplugged the speaker wire. DS
Old School Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Okay, thanks everyone. I think I'm just going to look for the speaker wire and yank it.

But if you ever get in a situation where you need them, you can always plug the speaker back in. DS
sirfergy Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 You can also tell it to use your soundcard to do the beep. Then you can control the volume.
