red930 Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 I, along with many others, swear by Prime95 for my OC torture testing.... Noticed something a while back and thought I would pass it along... IF I have Prime95 running and launch my browser (currently using maxthon (the new version of MyEI2) Prime95 CPU usage goes down to next to nothing and the system idle process goes up to 99% Which means that while the browser is open, it is NOT stressing your CPU. Memory usage is still very high, just low CPU... Now for me, I want to know that My CPU is 100% stable at any speed and I never trust a speed until it is Prime95 stable/// just thought I would pass this along... (do my ramblings make sense?) Silvestre Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 so? that's because prime is at default run as background program. so when other things comes along, it becomes a minor one... so never run anything while priming..kinda boring, though...hehehe...that's why i think every OCer should have at least one other PC or laptop to keep on discussing things while they are torturing their machines..
