Shinobi Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Why don'yt you just change it in the bios? :confused: Most of the Infinity & LanParty B bioses have the option to disable/enable Command Per Clock already(apart from a couple of the really old bios' which also don't contain alpha timings) so no need to use Wpcrset. Btw, a nice old post dug up here. I've never read this before, interesting. NEOAethyr Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I had allready made a set of pcr's for this chipset btw, it was inmy last bios rev that I sent out. I'm going for a redo soon, after I map some more things from actual src code. I find that using 00 latency helps in allmost all ways, pci wise it's good for the sw ide drivers, it really loves 00 for the pci stuff. Agp controller likes 00. The video cards like 00 but.... Depending on your video card. My 66gt has a prob with 00 latency, only after I modified pfb_debug and some other regs on my video card, well now it does 00 just fine. Just that the little tweak setting (registry) does'nt set that up anymore :, I dn how that's blocked. Adding more latency will give your device more time on the bus, it may or may not need it. You will have to find the optimal bandwith setting yourself. none the less, it's supposed to be 00 on this chipset, going higher is only a cludge . Using ff for anything is about stupid..., we don't have an acer chipset here guys :, nor is this a via chipset(via's optimal is 40 I believe it was). If you don't know what you're doing then leave it alone, you will not benifit much from these. Though you can get your video card up and going a bit better, and hd pauses can be a thing of the past if you mess around with this stuff... There is no isa patching here, not on these dfi boards. Tictac had an abit back then, he did'nt know that isa and pci addon rom mods don't work on the dfi's until some time ago. So don't bother trying to make one, it won't work. You'll have to intergrate such changes another way. I would love to intergrate some timings myself. Oh and btw, that cpu dissconnect, well there's a bit more to it then that. I dn have my notes on wht I used off hand though, I know about as much as everyone else does though about this, but there's defently more to this byte. This may help I dn, I will look at it later on a figuer out if there's some stuff I can grab from it and throw into my pcr's. Most chips are setup identical, ie the 1st sets of offset are allways the same meaning. Stuff like that., give or take. There may be some goodies, I dn really care at the moment, to busy with other things. None the less if you guys would like to take a look at this be my guest. I got plenty, I mean lots more then this but I probably should'nt give that stuff out. No offence, not my way to whored things for the most part, but if it hurts someone by releasing the info then I should'nt doit, ie it could get who knows who fired from I dn where, ms, nv, dw, I dn where all this came from.... I wanna get together with a few video card bios modders and stuff but have'nt had the time to post at diff forums to help out with there probs, ie nibitor. If those other pcr's have more then what is in my ver's of the pcr's, then send away ^^, me needs these things . Edit: The attachment was supposed be called NEO's.txt lol. Got truncated heh.
