gah thanks.

Its actually running in single channel mode if that means anything.

This really makes me long for the old socket a days when I knew what was what.

That means you only have one stick of RAM or if you have two sticks you have them in the wrong slots...

so it appears you are using a single channel... channel 0... you should place a stick in each channel, channel 0 and channel 1...

slot 0: channel 0

slot 1: channel 0

slot 2: channel 1

slot 3: channel 1

slot 0 & 2 = dual channel (slot 0: channel 0, slot 2: channel 1)

slot 1 & 3 = dual channel (slot 0: channel 0, slot 2: channel 1)

slot 0 & 1 = single channel (slot 0: channel 0, slot 1: channel 0)

slot 2 & 3 = single channel (slot 2: channel 1, slot 3: channel 1)

true, I'm looking for single channel, 4 GB.

using dual channel i'd effectually have 2 gigs of ram instead of 4.

I managed to get the system to almost 3 ghz (333x9).

Thanks gang.

The explanation of why cpuz is saying something different than the bios is beyond me atm. therefor I choose to sleep on it.

dude... no... just no lol

dual channel is kinda like RAID-0, you don't LOSE capacity, you just GAIN speed by kinda doing parallel data transfer...

dual channel is faster than single channel, the capacity is the same
