Duff Man Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 wow, I didint realize just how much ability you loose when you dont make use of it for extended periods of time... I'm trying to set up a site for a friend of mine that does a local weekend update on all the all ages shows and stuff, anyway I want to be able to set it up so the content refers to a txt file that has the latest content, one thing i'm not sure is possible or not is would i be able ot write a script like that that not only loads a text file but loads the newest one in a certain folder? so she just has to ftp a new txt file and some pictures every week as opposed to doing it in html... thanks in advance -Duff
NCC10281982B Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 well, you could use an embed tag or some ssi. I have not played with that stuff for a while though.

Well if you made it in a frame then you could have the txt file as one of the frames. The text would not be formatted but it would function well enough. On a top frame you could have links and html and on the bottonm just a txt file. Not sure if it would work though. A txt file may want to take over the browser. You could capture the contents of a txt file using php.
