hey guys im thinking about getting this board

think its a good combo?

try renaming the links for the actual products. Then people will take a look. Nobody wants to follow a mystery link to see what product's you're looking at

try an asus A8R32-MVP. better OC results.

 

 

this is of course assuming you'll be messing with an ATI video card an NOT nvidia.

so the asus will have better oc resuts than the dfi lanparty?

on the ATI / AMD side of things the Asus 939 boards are incredible overclockers. plus they've proven to be total opposites of all the other Asus boards lately (ie total crap).

I know that Asus in the past has been great with Intel chips and not as good with the AMD. At least thats what I have heard...so when he suggested the asus, i was a little surprised

in all honesty I was so fed up with Asus until I got the A8R-MVP for review... infact I was ready to put on a pair of rubber gloves before handling it.

 

once I got it installed, fired up... SOLD. my lanparty went in my daughter's rig. upgraded a few weeks later to the A8R32-MVP. love those things.

While the A8R32-MVP is nice it cant clock as high as the DFI. The only way it will is if you have a cpu that will give you its max clocks at a relatively low vcore. I only know because i have had both of them and all hardware was the same except the board with clean OS installs on each. Max Stable clocks I could achieve with the asus 277x10 and with the DFI 287x10. Your mileage may vary but that is the experience that i have had.
