Terminal_Drop Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 As far as i can tell all the NVIDIA GEFORCE4 TI4600 128MB are more expensive than the NVIDIA GEFORCE4 TI800's for some reason. RVE Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 The name Ti4800 is somewhat misleading. In most cases they are Ti4200 or Ti4400's just with AGP8x ability. So a Ti4600 would usually outperform most Ti4800 because they aren't technically faster unless you overclock them. Most Ti4800 can be overclocked faster than Ti4600s, but then you can overclock most Ti4600's faster than Ti4800's can. If you have a mobo that has AGP8x capability you might want a Ti4800, but if you don't have support for AGP8x then the card will only run as fast as your mobo can, most likely 4x. Plus AGP8x doesn't really give that big of a boost in performance. If you have the extra cash I'd get a Ti4600, but some Ati cards costs less or about the same for better performance.
