that wasn't drifting, maybe if it was a car and snowy...

my fwd civic can "drift" the same as your truck/suv whatever it is, but i've already almost went over a curb this winter already so I take it easy now.

we know what drifting is.

and drifting in the amigo is a hell of a lot closer than butt dragging a civic

i know because i also drive a civic and i enjoy hand brake drifting parking lots too

fwd no good for drifting

neither are amigos though.

and obvsiously you don't know much about trucks if you think you're going to get more HP and torque from a wrangler.  a wrangler barely has power than the amigo.  and you clearly have no concpet of how much it costs to fix damage to the suspension of a truck...  which being 2wd means it's NOT reinforced enough to take as hard of a beating.

mmmm.... i like how you conviently onnly takled about the very base modle wrangler...not the better ones that have like double the HP/TQ

i also pay way under 1000 for insurance and do pay it myself with a perfect record....kthnxdie

And it take A LOT more then a car to pick up some chicks....First off most girls dont like guys who think they are cool cause of thier car, they go more off of your personality, and the girls that only choose off of your car are usually very shallow and ones that you wouldnt wanna relate with if ya catch my drift. Wouldnt hurt for y'all to get off your computer and hit the weight room either.

...i never said my car was teh shiznit and when im driving on a road not a parking lot i obey all the rules in my amigo including speed limits. it very rare that i do doughnuts in my car because, i will admit its not the very good for the motor/tranny

double the HP? HAHHAHAHAHAHAHA double the torque???? oh that's even better.

you want a jeep with that much power you don't "buy" it. you "build" it. and I can tell you that's not happening for 2 reason. time and money. if you're going to join the army don't expect to have the time to build antyhing worth a darn. and selling the amigo + enlistment bonus... OMG you have no idea what that will get you. maybe a set of tires for an offroad worthy jeep. take a mid 80's jeep, spend 400+ man hours on it, $80,000 in parts and THEN you have the jeep you're dreaming about

only 2 jeep's can come close to that stock, and NEITHER one is a wrangler. both are equipped with Hemi's and neither one is an offroad jeep. you have the commander and grand cherokee.

as far as the top stock wrangler you have the rubicon... I just got done touring the trains on my property with the guys from jeep magazine... they brought thier own rubicon, liberty renegade and commander limitted. I have NO idea what they were thinking trying to get that commander on anything outside of a class 1 trail (ie a dirt droad with some hills to it. let alone going right to a class 3 trail (4x4 with locked diffs a must). and then to have the foolishness to take and shoot for a class 4 trail in the rubicon and renegade (where you will have at least 24" of ground clearance, locked diffs, and some expericne to boot). they finally caved and allowd the bronco to be used to pull their "offorad" model of the jeep out of a mud hole... which I couldn't even get them out of with brand new ram 2500 power wagon :( I'm willing to bet at this point they cut the crap out of thier artcicle and don't mention the "advanced" trails and how piss poor thier "traile rated" jeeps did even with a seasoned "pro" driving

so I got my intro to the "jeep thing". I understand it now... I don't want a jeep to offroad with, and frankly with the exception of the commander I think they're too small for me to drive anyway.

an for you guys acting like tards driving around like that... I agree taht it's the reason guys under 25 get raped by the insurance companies. it's just one of those things that guys do. driving 90 leads to 100 which leads to 120 and so on. driving like idiots on the shcool parking lot leads to the baseball field and then the lawn. and I'll say it again... you guys are not experienced enough to know what safety is. I know all too well that there are unforseen things that you have NO control over. I've been driving almost 10 years now, I have logged over 200,000 miles on the road in the last year. yet I know I'm not invincible on the road. I know a that there are circumstances beyond my control on the road. I know accidents happen. and what does this teach me? take nothing for granted behind the wheel, and siding with caution isn't such a bad thing.

and don't think I'm lecturing because I think it's fun guys, I've done my share of dumb stuff behind the wheel. I've driven thru a fence, across a golf course, mowed down a few small trees, knocked down a brick retaining wall, stood the truck on it's front bumper, and cost myself a small fortune in repairs to trucks (hence the reason my main offroading truck is on it's 3rd body, and getting ready for #4)

lol, last time I went offroading it was chasing deer in a field with an S-10.

btw, to the guys that made that drifting video. I will somewhat take your side and say there are safe isolated places for doing things like that, but a school parking lot is NOT one of them. Besides the video sucked IMO. I have seen better drifting on a moutain bike. lol :P

I admit i was wrong on the whole jeep thing but my mian point on that was that its a hell of a lot better then an amigo....just looking at the stats doesnt give you the feel of the vehicles.

I wouldnt take it hardcore offroading. the most i would do is go on a small back trail to get a deer that i had just gutted. And i can get a very nice Jeep/car/what ever i choose to get after my BCT and AIT training down in Ga. over $12 is a very nice car if ya ask me, i would just need a good dailydriver not some huge monster SUV. But then again im not rich and have all this money to spend on cars like it sounds like you do. What do you do for a living? Work for some offroad company? You sound really into it all and might have some questions regarding grille/brush gaurds or hard tops if you know anything about it.

As for the speeding thing...i dont speed, i drive an amgio. At 85ish it doesnt have enough power to push back against the wind... speeding is fun i will admit but i will admit but i still dont like to do it that much for reasons like cops/unpredictiable things.

And though you might not believe me i am mature enough to not drive on the baseball field or . like that. I play 3 sports and would NEVER disrespect another sporting filed like that. only a empty parking school parking lot on a sunday. Besides the maybe 3 times i have ever done doughnuts in my car i am very careful with it and know accidents can happen. i give myself a very good stopping distance from objects even for sliding on ice. The first time 2 times were more of just testing my car on ice because i had never driven it on ice/snow before. And yes, my mom had TOLD me to do that because thats what her parents had done with her back when cars were tanks('57 buick)

I am already enlisted for the Army and ship to Fort Benning July 6, 2006. I will be an Airborne Ranger in the 75th Rgt. Hopefully i get to drive the best off roading vehicle ever there.....the military issue hummvee....that would be GREAT FUN

Hell, I do better drifting in my crappy ford escort, and Im not even trying to drift it does it by itself. crappy tires and Front wheel drive. Ive already fish tailed more then 3 times in my first year of owning a car; in intersections at around 6 AM, going to school.

 My tires are so crappy.

Did i ever say it was good drifting? We were just screwing around.

I agree with draconic....you must just suck at driving. I have never even done that with RWD and no weight in the back end. Thats with driving on back roads that are also unplowed.

guess that would do it too

first time it snowed this year i drove out with my summer tires on my protege5, lightly accelerated in 2nd and just spun the tires. that night i put the snow tires on it was much better.

i have all season tires on my civic and they dont do too bad, but i havnt been driving it much because of all the snow. instead i take my moms passat which has nice features for winter driving like traction control :P
