Arkadiy Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I have a DivX player and was wondering how can you burn a DivX movie without converting it first? I currently can only burn it to VCD/SVCD/DVD but it'll convert the DivX file to like MPEG or something similar to that (there are a few different MPEG things soo). Anyone know how to burn a DivX movie file to a disc and keep it in its DivX format? Thanks.
gunak87 Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 What program are you using? You should just burn it like a normal CD with any kind of file on it.
Arkadiy Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 But I am going to be playing it on a DVD/DivX Player...I always thought you have to encode it......I am currently using Movie DVD Maker, but it just converts the file.....so you are saying just burn the file straight to the CD? (which is actually making a data CD)
gunak87 Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I'm pretty sure that's how you do it. If it's a DivX file, then it has been encoded.
Kash Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 If you have a stand alone player that can play raw Divx files, then just burn it like a Data CD. Should work once you pop it in.
Arkadiy Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 (edited) Alright, will try it (I just finished converting the file to DVD format and am burning it ) Edited October 23, 2005 by Arkadiy
hardnrg Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 wow... all you do is make a regular data disk and burn the avi file to it that's it.. you can put it in a folder, or in the root, it really doesn't matter... why on earth are you converting a DIVX file to dvd to play on your DIVX player? sounds a bit silly
Arkadiy Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 DivX shrinks it a bit....and yea just burning it straight there works
Guest Jeremy Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Well if you want to play it on an actual DVD player your going to have to encode it and arrange it in specific folders. I recomend using Nero Vision Express
Uber Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 DVD Shrink. then Nero
Kash Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 DVD Shrink. then Nero 565968[/snapback] He doesn't want to burn them as DVDs, he wants to know how to burn Divx files so they can play on his DIVX PLAYER. Like I said earlier, just make a Data CD and throw the file onto the CD. 3 minutes later, you have a disc that will play in your Divx player.
