Scorpion_Vista Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 I just built a new pc but it won't boot up, it says searching for boot record from floppy..not found, and the same with ide-o, cd-rom etc, then it says boot failure, also when i start up it runs MB FastTrack and that searching for ide devices then says no array is defined. all the cables seem to connected properly etc, so i dunno what's wrong, can anyone help? Ronin Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 ..... did you load an OS? IF not, you need to set your first boot device tot eh cd-rom, put in the OS of your choice, and install it.
Scorpion_Vista Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 tried that, but it wont boot from cd-rom either, or ide-o
RVE Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Have you checked the BIOS to make sure that the CD-Rom is enabled as a boot up device? In mine I have floppy first, CD 2nd and HD last. Makes boot up last a few seconds longer but better safe than D'oh!
cptkook Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 its sounds like its trying to boot from raid, but can't find an array. Double check the bios to make sure your first boot drive is the cd rom and boot from the os cd.
