Leldorion Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 no. the only way you get osx is if you buy a mac, x86 or otherwise, that's the way they want it and that certainly means no live cds.
Blue_cow Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Crap. Well i know i could look into this and, call me lazy, but does anybody know of any other live cds besides random distros of linux?
Leldorion Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 there is pear and its ability to emulate the mac environment so that you could put a slow running osx on it, but you'd still need to own the os.

For example, some big-name server makers have a config/os install CD that runs a semi-broken version of NT, 2K, or XP to install their OS or do raid configs. I know that Dell and IBM do, and I _think_ Compaq does. If you have MSDN, you can also get the WinPE version, which is mainly a network/cmd prompt enabled XP version that loads off of the CD so you can get to a network share to install windows. If you get your hands on either type of disk, you could probably play around with it enough to get a partially working system... Kamikaze_Badger Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 OSX was written for the PPC architecture. Your computer is most likely x86. Don't expect anything like a live CD with OSX for awhile.
