JeepGC96ZJ Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 Sounds like your MSI is corrupt. I have had this issue in Win 2K but now am on XP. I would try doing a repair. from your XP disk when you boot up to it.. Jeep
YODA74 Posted February 14, 2003 Posted February 14, 2003 Do you get a pop up like Setup Library ocgen .dll could not be loaded or anything like that??? If So you can try Inserting your Windows XP CD and then click Start, Run and enter CMD.EXE and click OK. In the Command Prompt window, type EXPAND X:\I386\SYSOC.IN -R C:\Windows\Inf Where X is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive. This will extract a good copy of the SYSOC.INF file. click Start, Run and enter %WINDIR%\INF This will open the Windows\Inf folder. Locate the SYSOC.INF file and double click it. Scroll down and locate the line: MultiM=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,multimed.inf,HIDE,7 Carefully edit the above line to remove the word HIDE. Leave the 2 commas. The end result will be: MultiM=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,multimed.inf,,7 Multimedia Components will now show up in the Windows Components, Accessories section. If your not getting a pop up do not run this
