Savan Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 (edited) I have been looking at water cooling recently, and have come to notice cpu water blocks that have 3 barbs, and I dont know what the extra barb is for. The blocks I am looking at are the PolarFLO TT series http://polarflo.com/ProductImages/ttseries...basicset400.jpg Do you think I should get this, or something else. Also what does a peltier do, and should I get one? :EDIT: also what do you think about using an old lava lamp as a resevoir? Nerm Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 With 3 barb's the middle barb is the inlet and the two outside barb's are the outlet's. I never heard of anyone attempting to use a lava lamp as a res, but hey it would be a cool mod if you could get it to work ok. Savan Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 so the inlet is high presure, and the outlets are low presure, then u use a y joint to splice them back into 1 tube?

cchalogamer Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 see how easy this stuff is with a little guidance as for the lamp....wonder how that would look in the end......and are you planning on mounting it in the case or outside? Nerm Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 a lava lamp inside the case would be a tad difficult lol.

DarkScorpion Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 not with the "lava" in the lamp, you cant use it Besides, do you know how HOT that lamp gets when on? It would hurt your w/c temperatures so much....
Bleeble Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 lol I don't think he meant turning it on! but that would be awesome if you could do that and keep it cool.
Savan Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 well id use like 3 radiators, and put a mesh filter over the out barb, so no lava would get into the tubing
martymcfly Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 well, a lava lamp has to be hot enough to melt wax, so it really wouldnt work with WC, unless you like a 70 degree CPU
