Sheepy Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Hi again. I have got up to a certain point in my clocking. An when i boot up comp it loads half way an i get a blue screen with a message on it. It says something about IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. At the bttom of the screen it goes up in seconds an say dumping physical memory. Any body know what this means?????? The mobo im using is an asrock K7VT4APRO Running windows xp pro. Thanks in advanced Sheepy
Puck Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Lower your ram, loosen the timings, or increase ram volts. **edit** haha beat you nerm **edit**

Sheepy Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 (edited) I tried my ram timings but dont have a setting in bios. I used a prog which loosened them for me. I think they did change after i used prog. I have an option in bios called VCORE but dont know what to change it too. I will look at what it says now an let you know. I have looked an found a few options which i think relate to cpu voltage an ram voltage. I havent change them as i dont know what im doing. Here they are- Over VCORE Voltage - Disbabled - I have the option to change it to + 5% or +10% VCCM Voltage - Auto - I have option to change to High or Low. Also Does DRAM CAS# latency refer to the ram timings??? Thanks Sheepy Edited March 24, 2005 by Sheepy
markiemrboo Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 give +5% a try.
Sheepy Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 (edited) Ok brb. I will the frequency to see if i get that blue screen of death again aswell. Thanks for that. I upped to +5% an it went passed the bit it wouldnt overclock before. do i still need to change the ram voltage an also does DRAM CAS#Latency mean ram timings??? Thanks again Sheepy Edited March 24, 2005 by Sheepy
markiemrboo Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Not a problem Since the vcore made a difference, that would suggest it was your CPU needing more voltage and not the RAM, so you can probably leave the RAM alone for now. CAS latency, the lower the number the better That setting seems to make quite alot of difference in terms of the speed of RAM. It's one of the RAM timings, usually the first number so 2-2-2-5 would have a cas latency of 2 (first number). 2.5-3-3-8 would have a CAS latency of 2.5. Think that's right anyway. evanin Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 The CAS is one of the ram timings, some ram does not like the CAS to be loosened, just the other settings. I know ram will not boot if I set the CAS to 3 from 2.5 . I dont know about % but my ram runs fine at 2.9 volts.
Sheepy Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Hey, I have bought some new fans for comp. 3 x 80mm fans with 1 at back blowing air in. 1 on side blowing air out. 1 on top blowing air out. I have got to 2326MHz so far. I ran occt to see if comp was stable an on 12% it stops saying something about comp not being stable an it generated a computation error. Any ideas on how to get stable again.
