hardnrg Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 my xp cd had a read problem on it... scratches i guess... i had to put it in my cd-rw drive for it to read properly... my new rig only has a dvd-rw so i had to burn a copy... that worked for the xp install problem... as far as the hardware goes, good luck... i think you'll need it if you don't plan on replacing some/most of it... contra33 Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 thanks kobalt...the comp is at school so i cant test it with my workign but horrible intel mobo...but i think i figured it was a windows problem..tell me if this may make it unstable and crash..when we installed XP it had files"missing from cd" :\..my friend just skipped the files...so i was thinking it was a bad install of XP that could be causing it... 435691[/snapback] why were files missing from the cd?
