Antec True Power 430w

Recommended Posts

I am in the same position you are in. Great stuff, crappy PSU

I am looking very hard at the Antec TrueBlue 480. Is there any difference between the two other than the watts?

I was thinking Newegg, $90 for the 480 vs. $75 for the 430.

I plan on getting a x800 Pro or XT in about 1-3 months...er....make that 3-5 months now... and want to make sure I have plenty of power to spare.

Think I should save the $15 and just go with the 430

I have the AnteC TrueBlue 480 Powering my system right now! (got an X800XT PE in there, so it should run a X800 Pro or XT no probs)

ROCK solid PSU.

My 12V rail is ALWAYS at either 12.01 or 12.00V under FULL load or idle (checked using multimeter)

My 5V Rail is ALWAYS at 5.06V (dosent budge under full load)

First set the multimeter to DC (dedicated current). The black probe goes to any ground (black wire) while the red probe goes to the wire that you are measureing. The orange wires are 3.3v, red is 5v, and yellow is 12v. It is best to measure at the ATX connector by squeezing the probe in between the wire and the plastic. You just need to squeeze the probe in far enough so that it can touch the metal to get a reading.
