Hyper Threaded Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 My PDP RAM runs at two different speeds, one stick runs at 200mhz and the other is 166mhz. What's up with that? Also, the timings are absolutely CRAP! Is it just bad RAM, or some setting in the BIOS? I believe it's set at auto..
markiemrboo Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 I do believe that they're the manufacturer's recommended timing things. For automatic configuration type stuff, you know? So if you set it to auto/by spd and your CPU was at 166MHz it'd set the timings to 2-3-3-7 type thing?
Agallion Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 thats what it WOULD run at at those speeds
Hyper Threaded Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Now I feel stupid.. lol The RAM still doesn't run at the correct timings, it runs 2.5.-3-3-8.. I've tried setting them manually to 2-3-2-5 (what it's advertised to run) and it won't boot, even with 2.75v it won't boot at the proper timings. markiemrboo Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Time to send them back then? You can see from above the manufacturers timings aren't even 2-3-2-5 on anything ?!?
