OptikaliLLusion Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Exactly how can I control the fans with them if the fans are getting no power? And also, the PSU doesn't have the connectors (three prong) for my fans! Any converters r something?
markiemrboo Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 I am not sure I fully understand your question; but the three pin fans are supposed to plug into the 3 pin headers for fans on the motherboard. Adapters do exist, I believe this is the one you need? http://www.cablesforless.com/browseproduct...-Connector.html
OptikaliLLusion Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Basically: I have a fan controller. I plug it into the fan. How does the fan work with no power?
suchuwato Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Basically: I have a fan controller. I plug it into the fan. How does the fan work with no power? you are probably meant to power the controller, look for a molex
tsamb. Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Yeah, the fan controller (which is probably a hardcano 9 or such) will have 6 molex connectors. Two will be labled power supply. You plug in two free molex connectors from the power supply two those two connectors. The other connectors will be labled fan 1 through 4. You then plug in which fan you want to be controlled by which knob to the corrosponding molex. Make sure connectors 1 and 4 don't have more than .35 amps going through them or they will blow. Happy cooling. -tsamb.
