Mcafee Firewall

Actually... it (NAV/NIS) uses very little resources...

And I couldn't see how it would possibably be your NIC settings.

I'd go in and play with your security settings in McAfee... especially the ones tied to OCC.com... if ya can't figure it out, I'd reset it to defaults... if there is no option to reset to defaults, I'd uninstall and reinstall.

Oh, I remember why I don't like Norton - hogs resources like crazy. used it for years and finally discovered why my system was so SLOW.

I have used Norton Utilites since it was Norton DOS. It uses almost NO system resources.

I LOVE Norton has saved me more times than I can count. WinDoctor is the only thing that keep my old Win98 machine from eating itself alive.

And Norton System Doctor is great. It tells me CPU, Cach, Page File, Phsyical Memory Usage, HD Space, HD Optimization, Users attached, Time Date, Windows Up time. And those are just the one's I have it set to look at.

It appears at the bottom of my windows desktop as little sensors.

I personally don't like mcafee and skipped most of the messages and wasn't supprised to see a norton praise at the bottom...

bah Im like reinstalling everything right now cause I formatted...

but yes, I love norton systemworks.... it's the best..

I dont currently use everything in it, but I tried it all...

The firewall is pretty handy and norton anti virus is the best...

I love it...

Don't give into Mcafee's crap where they want you to go online

for all their products..... that's just BS...

either d/l or buy Norton Products and you'll never go back...

though most of the features on both products are the same,

just stay with norton, it's just a whole lot easier...

Linux suggested gettin ZoneAlarm and I guess a lot of ppl don't like it,

but if all ya need is a firewall then go ahead and d/l ZoneAlarm,

but between Norton & McAfee, choose Norton...
