Leldorion Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 The memory should be able to handle that high I believe, but it's the stepping of your cpu and a little bit of luck, that will determine if you can get it to 3.8 or not. But the ram your getting shouldn't be the factor that holds you back if that's what you decide to get.
Syromieshi Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 with that mem you really wont have to worry about the memory your p4 runs a quad pumped 200 fsb so you should be fine and with luck (and good cooling) you can hit 3.8 ghz. good luck
road-runner Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 I have the 3.2EE rig in my sig. and a 3.2C. I have the OCZ PC4200 DDR533 enchanced latency its 2.5-4-4-7 in both and it is guranteed to run 250 clock on 1:1 divider and mine did do that and a little more but its also up to the CPU (all are different), most all other high speed RAM is cas 3-4-4-8, if I was going to run cas 3 I would get the OCZ PC4400 or 4500 which ever it is the DDR 566, here is what my 3.2EE done with a vdimm mod to give more voltage to the RAM. Also as someone said be sure you have a good cooling system and hope you got a good chip and 3.6 should not be a problom at all.
