Draco Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 What size hole should I drill for the screws to attach the fans that I have? I know that no matter what size fan it is, the 4 screw holes are the same size, but I don't know what size that is. Oh and yes using a hole saw is SO MUCH BETTER than using a dremel. DarkScorpion Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Find the closest bit that matches the size of the screw and go 1-2 sizes down. I would try on an area that no one can see so if you screw up, you'll know what size to use.
Draco Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Hmm yes this is where I run into the problem of not owning any drill bits... So I was kinda hoping to get an exact size... but then again, drill bit sets are fairly cheap... Ok thanks.
Mangar Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 (edited) Hmm yes this is where I run into the problem of not owning any drill bits... So I was kinda hoping to get an exact size... but then again, drill bit sets are fairly cheap... Ok thanks. I just drilled some last night , when I get home I will look at the exact size that I used.. (dont remember of hand), and post it here. OK: sorry for the delay... the drill size for the fan screws that I use is 11/64, then once through, wiggle it around a little bit while still drilling to loosen it up a little more. Hope this helps you Edited April 14, 2004 by Mangar
