Heatsink Question

Recommended Posts

Well time has come to upgrade to a new motherboard.

I am getting an Intel CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117560&cm_re=intel_i7_skylake-_-19-117-560-_-Product

I am getting the following board:

I currently have the following heat sink Thermaltake Spin Q:

Would the heatsink work on the CPU? I think it should.

Anyone have good choices for 16 gigs memory for the above board? I am thinking of Kingston or Corsair.

Thank you

The Spin-Q might be a little weak. But then again it does not look like you have chosen a K-SKU chip and wont be overclocking.

That board looks pretty solid. As far as memory goes get the tightest timings you can in your budget. You should be able to run 2800Mhz or 3200Mhz DIMMS with no problems.

I am not planning to overclock at all. That was fine with my current cpu as well which I forgot I have :( I am guessing that heatsink should fit the cpu fine. I shall see how it does if not will buy a new one couple of months. Budget would be have been fine but my 256 OCZ ssd died and Toshiba does not cover warranty for it when they bought OCZ

What good timings to get for the memory?
