CheeseMan42 Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 The NVIDIA GameWorks libraries provide developers with a number of options to enhance the visual presentation of their games including PhysX, Enhanced Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion, and HairWorks, among others. The recently released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt takes advantage of a number of these features and, perhaps unsurprisingly, these features run best on NVIDIA GPUs. Marcin Momot of CD Projekt RED addressed concerns that AMD GPUs would be unable to utilize the feature stating, "Many of you have asked us if AMD Radeon GPUs would be able to run NVIDIA’s HairWorks technology – the answer is yes! However, unsatisfactory performance may be experienced as the code of this feature cannot be optimized for AMD products. Radeon users are encouraged to disable NVIDIA HairWorks if the performance is below expectations."
