(noobie) PC running games slow

Recommended Posts

hello everyone i am not super techie when it comes to software/hardware (my knowledge is limited) when i first setup my PC i was able to run multiple games at a time with very little lag.

currently playing Lineage 2 (when i  have time specs are maxed in the game) and it lags at times with 1 client. it seems to run about the same speed with 1-3 clients at a time (which im confused here, i was hoping to run smooth with 1 client only)

so far i have ran some PC clean up (IOBit Malware / Drive booster /advance system care) which did help it from a previous state it was in.

my PC specs are:

MOBO - Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H
CPU - Intel 2500k
Power Supply - Corsair AX750
Ram - 2x4GB GSkill
Video Card - N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II 2GD5/OC
Hard Drive - WD 1TB @ 7200
Asus CD/DVD driver
Windows 7 home

Quite confusing; you do not give more details than lag in a Lineage II client...

How about other games? When you speak of lag, do you mean low framerates or stutter?

It is not clear, are you playing single or multi??

If it is thru network, is your modem and router running properly? Anyone in your area

having lag running with your ISP? During nice weather this is were they do most of maintenance.

It could also be a malware that slows down your ISP connection.

Malware mostly keep a trace on computers to "reinstall" themselves. Those traces are hardly seen by

anti-malware softwares. Spyware doctor is another one coming on top of my head, MalwareByte used to be free.

You could give a try (do not take it as the best antivirus ever) download Microsoft Security Essentials also.

Add more info and help will come

Is your Windows 32 bit or 64 bit? If it's 64 bit there's your problem. Game specs state...  "Windows XP 32bit / Vista 32bit / Windows 7 32bit, NOTE: 64bit not officially supported and may experience issues running."  Game reqirements can be found at http://www.lineage2.com/en/game/download/system-requirements/

Wait, I play Mu online with Multiple Clients too.

Some people call Lag when the screen animation is slower than normal (Low FPS).

But the Lag itself refers when you see the animations on screen after you gave the other either with the keyboard or the mouse and that's caused because of the network ping or speed.

When I use 3 clients I use with the processor underclocked with Asus EPU to low from 3.0ghz to 1.6Ghz the CPU so it will run colder (I usually run 3 clients for AFK/Hunting) and I don't need speed. If I am on a Fight I use only 1 client, CLEARLY you don't need to have 3 clients in order to fight because you can just control only 1 window. I do not know much of lineage but MU Online has a bot included so you can fight while you have your own Elf buffing you in other screen.

Well maybe my explanation was long but was just to know your problem. I think if you are talking about FPS (slow animations) I think you shouldn't have cuz 560 is a good card. However I think Lineage is a bit heavier than MU so don't expect it to run super fast.

As you said 1 CLIENT should run perfeclty smooth! What about other games?
