Laststop Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Graphics driivers always confuse me. I never know when to upgrade, sometimes I do and it destroys the way they work. People talk about properly clearing the old drivers first. Can someone tell me what the best drivers would be on windows 7 (and windows 8 if different) for the mighty asus gtx 690? And can someone give me a nice step by step guide and how to properly clear the old graphics drivers too? Thanks guys.
96andrei Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I always get the latest drivers from nVidia. Uninstall the old driver from control panel, clear registry with something like TuneUp Utilities, restart and then install the new driver with the clean install box checked. This is what I'd do if I'd have a new video card. There is also a tool that can do the job, Driver Sweeper, I heard it's very good, but never tried it myself.
